Аннотация Цель. Выявить современные тренды в области экспериментальной эстетики на основе обзора западных источников и провести анализ теорий эстетического опыта и эмоций. Процедура и методы. Применены метод критического анализа литературы, методы сравнения и обобщения. Результат. В статье представлены интерпретации предмета психологии искусства, или экспериментальной эстетики. Выделены основные направления исследования в данной области за рубежом. Анализ теорий эстетического опыта и эмоций показал механизмы их возникновения, характеристику эстетических эмоций и их функций, их отличие от «эмоций» как более общего термина. Теоретическая и/или практическая значимость. Результаты исследования вносят вклад в оте-чественную психологию искусства.
