Аннотация В обзорной статье приведены сведения о современном состоянии исследований по визуализации строения бактерий. Показаны преимущества и недостатки оптических ловушек. Так, до сих пор отсутствуют однозначные данные о структурах, формируемых белком FtsZ в клетках микоплазм. Иммуноэлектронная микроскопия не смогла дать однозначный ответ на этот вопрос, в связи с этим использование локализационной микроскопии для исследования этих структур должно принести уникальные данные и расширить наше понимание функционирования FtsZ в клетках микоплазм. Поэтому метод имммунофлуоресцентной локализационной микроскопии прокариотических клеток откроет совершенно новые возможности для исследования структуры прокариотических организмов, использование генной инженерии применительно к которым затруднено (как в случае с микоплазмами), с субдифракционным разрешением. Этот метод впоследствии может быть применен к различным организмам и структурам в них.
